As a Sr. Backend Engineer - Python, you will build and maintain "billing adapters" that enable the platform to ingest new sources of cost data from various vendors.
You will work as part of a small, collaborative team under the guidance of an experienced team lead.
Your responsibilities include building and maintaining billing adapters, developing data transformation pipelines, working with REST APIs, writing clean code, collaborating on code reviews, testing and debugging implementations, documenting your work, participating in technical discussions, and supporting existing adapters.
Requirements:
You must have 2+ years of Python experience with a solid understanding of backend development concepts.
Experience with REST API integration and working with third-party APIs is mandatory.
A basic knowledge of AWS services, particularly Lambda and S3, is required.
You should understand data processing and transformation concepts.
Familiarity with JSON/XML data formats and parsing techniques is necessary.
Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows is expected.
Knowledge of testing frameworks and writing unit tests is essential.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
You must be comfortable with some overlap with the US East Coast time zone.
Nice to have skills include previous experience with billing or financial data systems, familiarity with cloud provider billing APIs (AWS, GCP, Azure), experience with data pipeline frameworks or ETL processes, knowledge of SaaS platform development, and understanding of cost management or FinOps concepts.
