Mindex is looking for a collaborative Sr. BI Engineer to join their Data & Analytics team, focusing on transforming data into user-centric products.
The role involves enhancing embedded analytics capabilities across SaaS products, consulting on requirements, designing experiences, building data products, and supporting customer authors.
Essential functions include designing and maintaining dashboards in AWS QuickSight, gathering requirements, troubleshooting data discrepancies, documenting dashboard logic, translating business requirements into data models, collaborating with the team, managing semantic data layers, and training users on AWS QuickSight.
Requirements:
A 4-year degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is preferred.
Hands-on experience in designing, building, and delivering customer-facing dashboards is required.
Experience working in a domain with strict compliance requirements (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA) is necessary.
Experience with enterprise-level analytics solutions for a large number of customers is essential.
Proficiency in AWS QuickSight, including SPICE, data preparation, visuals, calculated fields, and dashboard sharing/security is required.
Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and data warehouses are necessary.
A solid understanding of data modeling concepts, such as star schema and normalized vs. denormalized data, is required.
Familiarity with data governance and access control best practices within a BI environment is important.
Familiarity with Highcharts or similar JavaScript-based charting libraries is a plus.
The ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Strong analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical users, are necessary.
