We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a project focused on Regulatory Strategy in the pharmaceutical and biotech domain.
The project aims to deliver advanced solutions that support process orchestration, intelligent automation, data analytics, and predictive modeling for global regulatory operations in innovative medicine.
Responsibilities include partnering with Product teams, J&J Technology Services, and other architects to design scalable, flexible, and supportable technical systems that drive business value in support of Regulatory Strategy and Intelligence.
The architect will develop architecture artifacts in collaboration with business and JJT product owners, lead engineers, platform owners, R&D Architecture, Information Security, Quality, and Technology Services stakeholders.
Artifacts for each project will include business context diagrams, process overviews, data flow diagrams, application architecture, data model overviews, integration architecture, infrastructure architecture, and ML and ML Ops architectures.
The role is responsible for ensuring architecture alignment to Regulatory, Enterprise, and R&D technology strategies, patterns, and standards.
The architect will enable business at scale through scalable technologies, reusable integration patterns, and intelligent automation.
Capturing architecture and design information and decisions using J&J-standard tools such as Lean IX, SAXpress, Asset Management, Draw-IO, AMT, Confluence, and MS Teams is also part of the responsibilities.
Requirements:
A strong understanding of the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs domain, including capabilities, data, content, and terminology is required.
A BA/BS degree in a technical, engineering, or scientific field is necessary.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect in Pharmaceutical development.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience in integration design and operationalization, including REST APIs, Kafka, ETL, data pipeline design, API gateways, and data streaming is required.
5+ years of experience working with content management platforms and structured RDBMS is essential.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience architecting and deploying cloud-native, scalable solutions on AWS, GCP, and/or Azure for data capture, advanced analytics, and intelligent automation.
Experience architecting regulated systems such as GxP, HIPAA, and GDPR is necessary.
Cloud-native solution engineering experience covering compute, networking, storage, database, and integrations is required.
Proficiency in Deep Learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools for developing generative AI models is essential.
An understanding of NLP, including large language models (LLMs), their training, and fine-tuning is required.
Knowledge of model training, evaluation, and optimization techniques is necessary.
The ability to tackle complex business challenges and provide actionable AI-based solutions is essential.
Experience leading technical conversations and driving consensus and decisions across stakeholders is required.
A proven ability to understand and articulate business requirements, direction, and initiatives is necessary.
Experience surfacing technical requirements and contributing to IT product roadmaps is essential.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate and transform complex topics into concise architectural diagrams and presentations, are required.
A strong ability to build and manage relationships at various levels, both inside and outside an organization, is necessary.
A proven track record of designing robust, highly available, scalable, and flexible solutions that serve a multi-national user and Health Authority community is required.
An AWS-Certified Solutions Architect certification is mandatory.
AWS Well-Architected Framework certification and AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty certification are desirable.
A minimum English level of C1 Advanced is required.
