CGS is seeking a passionate and driven Sr. Data Engineer to support a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform.
The role focuses on providing solutions that empower federal customers with tools and capabilities to turn data into actionable insights.
The ideal candidate should be a critical thinker and perpetual learner, excited to gain exposure and build skillsets across a range of technologies.
Responsibilities include completing development efforts across data pipelines, collaborating as an active member of an Agile/Scrum team, and writing code to ensure performance and reliability of data extraction and processing.
The engineer will support continuous process automation for data ingest and advocate for lean-agile engineering principles and practices.
The position involves working with program management and engineers to implement and document complex and evolving requirements.
The candidate will help cultivate an environment that promotes customer service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork.
Requirements:
Candidates must be US Citizens and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
A minimum of 7 years of IT experience is required, including experience in design, management, and solutioning of large, complex data sets and models.
Experience in developing data pipelines from various sources, including structured and unstructured data sets in different formats, is necessary.
Proficiency in developing ETL processes and performing test and validation steps is required.
Candidates must have the ability to manipulate data using Python, R, SQL, or SAS.
Strong knowledge of big data analysis and storage tools and technologies is essential.
A strong understanding of agile principles and CI/CD pipelines is required.
Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, is necessary.
Candidates should be comfortable working in version control systems, such as Git Repositories.
Ideally, candidates will have experience creating and consuming APIs, knowledge of DHS standards, and extensive experience with Python.
The ability to develop visualizations using Tableau or PowerBI and experience in developing Shell scripts on Linux is preferred.
Demonstrated experience translating business and technical requirements into comprehensive data strategies and analytic solutions is required.
Candidates must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization and explain technical terms to non-technical audiences.
