  • CGS is seeking a passionate and driven Sr. Data Engineer to support a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform.
  • The role focuses on providing solutions that empower federal customers with tools and capabilities to turn data into actionable insights.
  • The ideal candidate should be a critical thinker and perpetual learner, excited to gain exposure and build skillsets across a range of technologies.
  • Responsibilities include completing development efforts across data pipelines, collaborating as an active member of an Agile/Scrum team, and writing code to ensure performance and reliability of data extraction and processing.
  • The engineer will support continuous process automation for data ingest and advocate for lean-agile engineering principles and practices.
  • The position involves working with program management and engineers to implement and document complex and evolving requirements.
  • The candidate will help cultivate an environment that promotes customer service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be US Citizens and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • A minimum of 7 years of IT experience is required, including experience in design, management, and solutioning of large, complex data sets and models.
  • Experience in developing data pipelines from various sources, including structured and unstructured data sets in different formats, is necessary.
  • Proficiency in developing ETL processes and performing test and validation steps is required.
  • Candidates must have the ability to manipulate data using Python, R, SQL, or SAS.
  • Strong knowledge of big data analysis and storage tools and technologies is essential.
  • A strong understanding of agile principles and CI/CD pipelines is required.
  • Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, is necessary.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in version control systems, such as Git Repositories.
  • Ideally, candidates will have experience creating and consuming APIs, knowledge of DHS standards, and extensive experience with Python.
  • The ability to develop visualizations using Tableau or PowerBI and experience in developing Shell scripts on Linux is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business and technical requirements into comprehensive data strategies and analytic solutions is required.
  • Candidates must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization and explain technical terms to non-technical audiences.
