This position is for a Sr. Data Engineer I at Bitso, located in Latin America.

Responsibilities include designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines, contributing to data warehouse and lake architecture, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide insights across the business.

Key accountabilities include building and maintaining scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark, optimizing data workflows, ensuring data quality and security, and designing cloud-based data systems with tools like Databricks and AWS.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering, data systems, and ETL pipelines is required.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark is necessary, along with experience in cloud platforms such as AWS.
A solid background in data lake and data warehouse architecture, big data processing, and data modeling is essential.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is required.
Familiarity with Databricks, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code is a strong plus.
Experience with Redshift, BigQuery, or similar big data technologies is preferred.
The candidate must have proven ability to work in a fast-paced, remote-first environment and possess excellent English communication skills.
