  • The position is remote and part-time, estimated at 40 hours per month, reporting to the Vice President of PI.
  • The Senior Data Scientist will handle advanced analytics, AI/ML modeling, and large-scale data integration to develop fraud detection models for federally funded public healthcare programs.
  • Key responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of fraud detection algorithms, overseeing secure data pipelines, applying record linkage methods, conducting literature reviews, collaborating with stakeholders, developing analytical workflows, delivering reproducible analytical outputs, translating findings into actionable insights, and providing technical leadership and mentorship to project teams.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in data science, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics, with a proven record of operationalizing AI/ML solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fraud detection, anomaly detection, or risk scoring in healthcare, finance, or other regulated sectors is required.
  • Significant experience in integrating and linking large-scale, multi-source datasets, including restricted and unstructured data, is necessary.
  • Mastery of Python, R, and similar programming languages, along with experience in distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Spark) and secure cloud environments, is essential.
  • A strong understanding of statistical methods, supervised/unsupervised learning, and explainable AI techniques is required.
  • Familiarity with federal data privacy, confidentiality laws, and secure data handling (HIPAA) is necessary.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and actionable deliverables for diverse stakeholders.
  • A degree (Master’s or PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline is mandatory.
