  • Horizon Industries Limited is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and its secure API Gateway Program.
  • This role involves driving automation strategy and delivering advanced configuration management solutions in an IL5 AWS GovCloud environment.
  • The position is remote and requires a highly skilled Ansible and Kubernetes practitioner with a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and secure DoD-compliant cloud architectures.
  • Daily responsibilities include designing, developing, and managing Ansible playbooks, automating configuration of infrastructure and middleware components, and administering the Ansible ecosystem.
  • The engineer will implement secure infrastructure-as-code using Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation, deploy and manage containers via Docker and Kubernetes, and build Jenkins pipelines.
  • Additional tasks include shipping application logs to Splunk and AWS CloudWatch, hardening systems using STIGs and security baselines, providing SME-level technical support, and collaborating with various teams to align with DoD Zero Trust architecture principles.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 4+ years of experience with Ansible in cloud-based DevOps environments.
  • Proficiency in developing Ansible Playbooks and using Ansible CLI for automation is required.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Bash are necessary.
  • Strong experience in AWS GovCloud, EKS/Kubernetes, and Docker deployments is essential.
  • Expertise in Jenkins pipeline development and Git source control workflows is required.
  • Knowledge of STIG compliance, NIST frameworks, and DevSecOps best practices is necessary.
  • Familiarity with log aggregation using Splunk or CloudWatch is expected.
  • Experience working in secure, high-compliance federal environments is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
  • An active IT-II (NACLC - Secret) clearance or current eligibility is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, and secure cloud deployment in support of federal systems is essential.
