The Flight Software Engineer will automate the operation of complex aircraft systems and be involved in the development and certification of the autonomy stack.
Responsibilities include developing deterministic C++ software in a bare metal environment, working with sensors and control systems, handling system faults, and integrating with vehicle subsystems.
The engineer will drive requirements, implement unit tests, and have opportunities to work with flight hardware, plan flight testing, and see their code in action.
The role requires willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
The estimated salary range for this position is $145,500 to $220,000 annually, plus cash and stock option awards and benefits.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of professional experience with C or C++.
Professional experience in developing software for embedded or high-performance applications is necessary.
The ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Preferred qualifications include a thorough understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking.
Experience with DO-178C and developing software for safety-critical applications is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also desired.
