The Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer will maintain the integrity, performance, and availability of the client's network infrastructure.
This role involves leading incident response efforts, proactively monitoring systems, and serving as a technical resource for the team and agency stakeholders.
Responsibilities include monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnosing network outages and performance issues.
The engineer will lead incident response and root cause analysis for major network events.
Mentoring and providing technical oversight to junior NOC staff is expected.
Coordination with ISPs, vendors, and internal federal stakeholders to resolve networking issues is required.
The role includes allocating resources effectively to ensure 24/7 operational support and fulfilling on-call responsibilities to ensure continuity of critical services.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting and administering federal network infrastructure is required.
Expertise in incident management, including detecting, diagnosing, and resolving network incidents is necessary.
Proficiency in routing and switching protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and VLANs is essential.
Experience with VPN technologies, including policy- and route-based VPNs, is required.
Knowledge of load balancers, specifically F5 BIG-IP, NGINX, and Apache, is necessary.
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools like SolarWinds, DataDog, and ExtraHop is required.
Experience with firewalls, specifically Cisco ASA/FTD and Palo Alto Networks, is essential.
Preferred qualifications include Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA) or F5 BIG-IP certification, and Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Engineer (PCNSE).
