ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Agentic Software Engineer to lead the design and engineering of next-generation AI agentic workflows within the Global Cloud Services OODP Team.
This role focuses on workflow automation, AI/LLM technology, and enterprise software engineering, aiming to build scalable, reliable, and intelligent agent-driven processes for AI-powered observability products.
The Staff-level contributor will drive the strategy, architecture, and execution of AI-driven workflows, collaborating with product managers, architects, customers, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities include leading the design and development of agentic workflows, architecting AI agent frameworks, defining reusable workflow components, and ensuring workflows are human-centered and safe.
The role also involves building integrations with observability platforms, applying RAG for accuracy, establishing best practices for development, mentoring engineering teams, and driving continuous improvement in processes.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience in integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, including using AI-powered tools and automating workflows.
Proven experience in designing and deploying LLM-powered workflows or AI agents in production environments is required.
Strong expertise in agentic AI orchestration frameworks and familiarity with planner-executor and multi-agent architectures is necessary.
A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6 years with a Master's degree, focusing on workflow automation, backend development, and distributed systems is required.
Proficiency in Java, Python, REST API, and strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design is essential.
A strong data background with RDBMS and TSDB, along with proficiency in analytical SQL and PromQL queries, is required.
Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and cloud-native deployment for AI-driven services is necessary.
Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills for complex workflows and distributed agents are required.
Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication skills to work with UX, product, and AI research teams are essential.
A strong statistical background with the ability to design scalable, robust, and efficient ML systems that integrate with the full tech stack is preferred.
Hands-on experience with UI/UX engineering in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern UI frameworks is preferred.
Familiarity with responsible AI principles and monitoring tools for AI/agentic workflows is preferred.
Experience with observability tools and ServiceNow platform development is preferred.
