Oura is seeking a highly motivated Staff Android Engineer to join their Women's Health team.
The role involves creating features that provide insights into reproductive health and its connection to overall well-being.
The engineering team consists of talented Android and iOS developers collaborating across the EU and US.
Engineers work in autonomous, cross-functional squads, taking full ownership of their projects from conception to maintenance.
The position allows for hybrid or office settings, with offices in San Francisco and San Diego, and informal gatherings in other major cities.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality code for the Oura Android app, collaborating with Product Managers and Designers, and working cross-functionally with various teams.
The engineer will lead architecture discussions, mentor other engineers, and improve the Android codebase.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of professional experience developing and shipping Android apps.
Expert-level Kotlin programming skills and deep knowledge of modern Android architectures (MVVM, MVI, etc.) are required.
Experience with collaborative development on complex shared codebases is necessary.
Proficiency with Git, branching, CI/CD, and standard code review workflows is essential.
A strong focus on quality through unit and manual testing is expected.
Candidates should be able to own projects, design technical solutions, and deliver results with minimal guidance.
Proven ability to mentor other engineers and enhance developer productivity is required.
Strong experience with Agile/Scrum processes, systems architecture, and performance optimization is necessary.
Solid computer science fundamentals and design patterns are essential.
