Remote Staff Backend Engineer, Robotics

Description:

• Foxglove is seeking a highly experienced, product-minded Full Stack Engineer to join their small, skilled, and fast-moving team.
• The role involves using full stack TypeScript, with React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.
• Responsibilities include taking ownership of the REST API and client libraries to ensure a seamless API-first developer experience.
• The engineer will have end-to-end feature ownership, interacting with customers and the community to understand their needs.

• The company is fully remote, primarily hiring within ±4 hours of U.S. time zones, and is looking for someone located in San Francisco.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 8+ years of professional experience in writing high-performance production software.
• A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in Robotics or Autonomous systems is required.
• Significant professional experience using Go or Rust is necessary.
• Strong experience with a SQL database, query plan optimization, and scaling data workloads is essential.
• Experience with one or more cloud object stores and other data storage mechanisms is required.
• Familiarity with SQL-backed REST APIs is necessary.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes is also required.
• Candidates should have a passion for building technical tools with engineers as the primary users.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small team environment is required.
• Candidates must consider the customer impact when making technical decisions.
