  • In the Staff Data Engineer role, you will design, build, and maintain team products with a focus on patients, providers, and end users.
  • You will balance technical debts, complexity, operations, and market readiness.
  • You will collaborate with internal teams to design data pipelines for ingesting information into the BigQuery data warehouse.
  • You will take ownership of the codebase, identifying gaps and areas for improvement, and refactoring as necessary.
  • You will actively code to resolve technical and communication challenges to meet product roadmaps.
  • You will contribute to architecture review decisions, designs, and documentation that guide the team and codebase direction.
  • You will communicate effectively with stakeholders, including upper management and peers, regarding the product you are responsible for.
  • You will provide feedback and participate in pair programming exercises.
  • You will report to the Senior Manager, Engineering in the Data & Cloud Platform Department.

Requirements:

  • You must have 8+ years of experience developing data platforms using Python and SQL.
  • You should have experience creating and maintaining Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines and using modern ETL tools.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI agents and tools to enhance developer productivity is required.
  • You must have experience with database and data warehouse technologies such as Postgres, BigQuery, and Redshift.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is necessary.
  • You should have experience in developing large-scale data structures and streaming pipelines, such as Apache Beam.
  • Experience creating data visualizations in tools like Datadog, Looker, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools is required.
  • You must have experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Working experience in the US healthcare system, particularly with data systems and EHRs like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth, is a plus.

Benefits:

  • The base pay range for this position is $156,000 to $175,000 per year.
  • In addition to salary, the position is eligible for an annual bonus program, equity, and benefits.
