Remote Staff Data Engineer

• The Data Platform team designs, builds, and maintains scalable data infrastructure to empower data-driven decisions.
• As a Staff Data Engineer, you will enhance and modernize the data platform infrastructure towards a robust and secure data system.
• Responsibilities include designing and managing scalable data processing platforms, building core data infrastructure, automating data workflows, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
• You will also mentor junior engineers and implement strategies for acquiring data to develop new insights.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience working with high volume data infrastructure is required.
• Experience with Databricks, AWS, ETL, and job orchestration tooling is necessary.
• Extensive programming experience in Python or Java is required.
• Knowledge in data security, governance, quality, cost management, and system performance tuning is essential.
• Proficiency with SQL, AWS, databases, Apache Spark, Spark Streaming, EMR, and Kinesis/Kafka is needed.
• Familiarity with modern data engineering SDLC, Agile methodology, CI/CD, and automated deployments using Terraform and GitHub Actions is required.
• Knowledge of open source data frameworks, lakehouse architecture, and modern data platform tech stacks is important.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently are necessary.
• A BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience is required.
