As a Staff DevOps Platform Engineer, the role has two main responsibilities: as an individual contributor (IC) and as a Chapter Lead.
In the IC role, the engineer will design, implement, and maintain a scalable, reliable, and secure DevOps infrastructure, focusing on central teams such as Data, Assembly, and Trust & Safety.
The engineer will drive automation of deployment and monitoring of applications, services, and systems to ensure consistency, reliability, and efficiency.
The role involves overseeing cloud services in AWS and GCP, optimizing resource usage and cost while maintaining a healthy security posture.
As a Chapter Lead, the engineer will work with all DevOps practitioners to establish technical standards, promote knowledge sharing, and develop skills within the organization.
Close collaboration with development, product, and support teams is essential to ensure seamless integration of the DevOps infrastructure with development and deployment processes.
The engineer will implement and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, setting standards for automation of building, testing, and deployment processes.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in a relevant field, with a proven track record in designing and implementing fault-tolerant solutions in a cloud-based environment.
A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is required.
Proficiency in writing code and solving problems is necessary.
Experience with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio is required.
Candidates must have experience managing Amazon or GCP infrastructure.
Experience with ETL pipelines, CI/CD, and relevant tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and GitHub Actions is essential.
Candidates should be comfortable making changes to existing codebases.
Experience being a change agent within medium to large organizations is preferred.
