The Staff DevOps Engineer will collaborate with the VP of Engineering and internal stakeholders to define a DevOps roadmap, clearly outlining value propositions and tradeoffs.
This role involves guiding engineers in adopting DevOps best practices related to observability, monitoring, alerting, SLO/SLIs, CI/CD, IAC, performance, and security.
The engineer will build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and related vendor integrations.
The position requires leading cross-functional initiatives with SRE, security, and development teams while mentoring on DevOps practices.
The engineer will deliver solutions for critical projects such as cloud migration, disaster recovery, and infrastructure scaling.
The role includes owning technical decisions and driving cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability strategies aligned with Zippy’s vision.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of DevOps experience.
A minimum of 5+ years of production experience with non-trivial AWS infrastructures is required.
Candidates should have at least 3+ years of production experience with Terraform.
Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as code, observability tooling for logging, tracing, monitoring, and alerting, infra and network security best practices, disaster recovery, managing DevOps vendor relationships, and cloud platform cost optimization is essential.
Proficiency with Zippy’s technology stack, including AWS, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Datadog, and Postgres, is required.
Nice to have skills include experience with Ruby and related build systems, Python and related build systems, Microsoft stack experience, and experience with monorepos and related tooling.
