Madhive is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to join the Maverick AI team.
The successful candidate will build dynamic, low-latency data pipelines and innovate architectural improvements.
This role involves leading the development of best practices and creating stability and operational efficiency for complex data and database systems.
Responsibilities include driving design and architecture discussions for data infrastructure, ensuring AI agents can access features with sub-millisecond latency, and running live experiments to optimize data delivery.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply engineering expertise to solve unique challenges, support on-call assignments, mentor junior engineers, and write technical documents to influence architectural decisions.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience working with big data systems that process and transform data at petabyte scale.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
Experience in a brisk-paced, high-ambiguity, high-innovation delivery environment is necessary.
Familiarity with messaging systems, batch processing, serverless, and streaming technologies is essential.
Understanding of both OLTP and OLAP database systems is required.
Candidates should be able to handle datasets of any size with consistent accuracy and latency.
Experience implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and understanding trade-offs in low-latency data retrieval systems is needed.
Candidates must have experience with database design for transaction management, reporting, and analytics at scale.
Strong skills in designing and implementing complex systems using best algorithms and design patterns are required.
Experience with operational aspects of large-scale systems focusing on observability and robust software development processes is necessary.
Candidates should be able to articulate complex technical topics clearly through written and verbal communication.
Familiarity with GCP and technologies such as Golang, gRPC, BigQuery, Postgres, Airflow, Bigtable, Docker, Spanner, Firebase, Kubernetes, and Terraform is preferred.
Benefits:
The approximate compensation range for this position is $200,000-$275,000, with the actual offer determined by various factors including experience and skills.
