Curinos is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer – Data Platform and Lakehouse to lead the design and implementation of a cloud-native Data Platform that supports AI, advanced analytics, and machine learning applications in B2B SaaS applications within the FinTech vertical.
The role involves working with a diverse team of engineers, AI and ML scientists, and product managers to build next-generation data and AI platforms, support migration from legacy infrastructure, and assist product engineering teams in leveraging the Data platform and Lakehouse for new product launches and genAI applications.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable, secure, and maintainable data platforms on Databricks and AWS, providing architectural leadership, architecting distributed data processing systems using Apache Spark, leading the development of reusable data pipelines, translating business objectives into platform capabilities, supporting AI/ML initiatives, championing best practices in ETL/ELT, driving data governance standards, establishing CI/CD pipelines, and evaluating emerging technologies.
The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000, plus bonus.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 15+ years of experience in software development, covering the full SDLC: ideation, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
A strategic mindset is required, with the ability to align technical decisions with business goals and drive architectural vision.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills across functions, including data scientists, MLOps engineers, and product managers, are essential.
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, along with a strong foundation in software engineering principles, is required.
Extensive experience with distributed computing frameworks, particularly Apache Spark, including performance tuning and scalability, is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Feature Store, and Delta Live Tables, is required.
Proficiency in data pipeline orchestration tools using Databricks Workflows, Airflow, or AWS Glue is necessary, with Databricks being a requirement.
A strong command of data engineering best practices and tools, including ETL/ELT design, data quality validation, monitoring, and observability, is required; experience with Monte Carlo is preferred.
Proven ability to build scalable, cloud-native data architectures on Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP is necessary, with Databricks being a requirement.
Experience enabling AI/ML workloads, including feature engineering, model deployment, and real-time processing, is essential.
A strong understanding of data governance and security, including access control, data lineage, compliance, and metadata management, is required.
