WunderGraph is a fast-growing startup focused on redefining how companies leverage GraphQL Federation at scale.
The Staff Golang Engineer will be the primary owner of the WunderGraph Cosmo Router, a high-performance, Go-based engine for GraphQL Federation.
This role involves architecting, building, and operating the fastest and most reliable router for federated GraphQL, contributing to the company's core competitive advantage.
Responsibilities include driving the evolution of the query compiler, plugin system, and overall performance of the router.
The engineer will ensure the router scales to meet the demands of large enterprises and integrates seamlessly with the observability stack and the rest of the Cosmo platform.
The role requires close collaboration with the CTO, the engineering team, product managers, and direct customer interaction to close the feedback loop.
Requirements:
Candidates must have proven, extensive experience architecting and building high-performance, low-latency networking services in production using Go.
A profound understanding of GraphQL, its execution semantics, and the challenges of GraphQL Federation is required, with hands-on experience in building or maintaining GraphQL gateways or routers being a significant plus.
The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, remote-first company that values direct customer interaction and fast iteration.
Experience with developer infrastructure, API gateways, or products with a highly technical user base is strongly preferred.
A self-starter attitude and a leader’s mindset are essential, with the ability to identify and solve ill-defined problems independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to articulate complex technical concepts clearly in a remote-first environment.
