The Staff Machine Learning Engineer will provide client-facing technical leadership and navigate ambiguity, system-level design, and ROI-driven strategic thinking.
Responsibilities include designing and developing bespoke machine learning models, conducting diverse experiments, making system-level architecture decisions, and ensuring project teams maintain an ROI-driven mindset.
The role involves partnering with engineers in a pair programming setting, engaging in client-facing activities, leading and mentoring project teams, and staying updated on machine learning advancements.
The engineer will serve as the technical lead for projects with minimal aid from Directors of Engineering and contribute to internal initiatives and processes.
Requirements:
Candidates must have extensive professional experience in building, designing, and deploying machine learning systems using various tool stacks and techniques.
Proficiency in Python programming is required, along with experience in object-oriented programming, code hygiene, and basic version control.
Strong time management skills and the ability to work with deadlines are essential.
Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for collaboration and problem-solving with engineers at all levels.
Candidates should have experience in client-facing environments and the ability to communicate high-level technical details to both technical and non-technical clients.
A strong desire for continuous learning is important, along with a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
