Spotify is looking for a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join the Native Ads product area in the Music Mission.
In Native Ads, the team builds consumer and industry-facing music promotion products that provide creators with new avenues for promoting their work, reaching new audiences, and deepening connections with fans.
The Staff Machine Learning Engineer will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Native Ads products, technology, and business.
This role involves collaborating with key partners in PZN and Ads within the continuously evolving Coordinated Promotions ecosystem.
The engineer will work with a cross-functional team to define and execute a Machine Learning technical strategy for the product area.
Responsibilities include leading the creation of a Machine Learning Engineering Strategy for Native Ads, contributing to the design, building, evaluation, shipping, and refinement of Native Ads products through hands-on ML development.
The engineer will collaborate with a cross-functional agile team to build new product features that connect artists and fans.
Prototyping new approaches and productionizing solutions for Spotify For Artists customers is also part of the role.
The engineer will help drive optimization, testing, and tooling to improve quality and work closely with Personalization and Music Tech Research teams to innovate on Music Promotion Tools.
Requirements:
A strong background in machine learning, with experience and expertise in machine learning algorithms is required.
Hands-on experience implementing production machine learning systems at scale in Java, Scala, Python, or similar languages is necessary.
Experience or a strong interest in emerging agent technologies and generative recommender systems is preferred.
A commitment to agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and disciplined experimentation is essential.
The candidate should enjoy leading projects from start to finish and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity on high-impact projects.
Accountability to senior tech leadership for meeting product and technology objectives and managing expectations is required.
A passion for better serving artists and their teams is important.
A team-first approach with developed techniques to ensure team happiness, motivation, and productivity is necessary.
Experience with Ads systems is a plus.
Benefits:
The United States base salary range for this position is $215,136 - $307,337 plus equity.
