The CoreLLM team at ServiceNow is responsible for leading research and engineering to build ServiceNow's signature models (NOWLLM).
The role involves all phases of Large Language Models (LLMs) development, including data curation, training, and evaluation.
The goal is to enhance and improve NOWLLM models by incorporating innovative features and optimizing efficiency.
These models are utilized across various Business Units (BUs) within ServiceNow to address complex problems and deliver tailored solutions.
The position involves building next-generation LLMs for Enterprise Language Generation to enhance AI experiences for customers.
Responsibilities include applying AI/ML expertise to solve real-world challenges, researching and implementing models for LLM benchmarking, participating in data collection, and collaborating with a diverse team to produce quality software.
The role also includes developing tools for LLM evaluation, generating innovative ideas for product competitiveness, and potentially writing research papers for publication.
Requirements:
Proficiency in prompt engineering and developing LLM-based features is required.
Experience with training and fine-tuning LLMs using methods such as distillation, supervised fine-tuning, and policy optimization is necessary.
Familiarity with AI productivity tools like Cursor and Windsurf is a plus.
Candidates should have experience in integrating AI into work processes and decision-making.
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 4 years with a Master's degree, or a PhD with no experience is required.
Solid expertise in Python and strong theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in Machine Learning/Deep Learning are essential.
Experience with LLM benchmarking and evaluation is required, while experience in generating synthetic data is a plus.
Candidates must be able to read and experiment with recent research papers.
High creativity, quick problem-solving abilities, and adaptability are important.
Effective communication skills to convey research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders are necessary.

The position offers a base pay range of $173,100 - $303,000, plus equity (when applicable) and variable/incentive compensation.
