Tinder is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Backend to design, develop, and operate scalable and resilient distributed services that run on Kubernetes or ECS.
The role involves collaborating with various functional teams across Tinder on the expansion of the service platform.
The engineer will influence the team roadmap and product development while also recruiting, encouraging, and developing other team members.
The position offers an opportunity to have a significant impact on the most visible aspects of the Tinder App and to challenge norms while improving architecture design and exploring new technologies.
Requirements:
Candidates must have excellent knowledge and experience with a backend language such as Java, Node.js, Go, or C++.
A BS/MS in Computer Science or an equivalent field is required, along with 5+ years of industry work experience.
Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals, particularly in data structures, algorithms, and coding, is essential.
Applicants should have experience in designing and building distributed backend systems that handle high volumes of traffic.
The ability to handle ambiguous business requirements with excellent prioritization, time management skills, and a focus on execution is necessary.
