Remote Staff Software Engineer - Reference & Entity Data

Description:

• AlphaSense is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Reference and Entity Data Services team.
• This team is responsible for building systems that ingest public and private company data from multiple sources, normalizing, deduplicating, and publishing it to various services at AlphaSense.
• The team ensures data quality, coverage, and timeliness for over 9 million companies worldwide and plans to expand to other types of reference data in the future.
• The tech stack includes Python, MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and AWS.
• Responsibilities include implementing new data feed ingestions, integrating reference data with downstream systems, and ensuring the health of systems managing large data flows relied upon by tens of thousands of users daily.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of software development experience in building highly reliable, mission-critical software.
• Strong software engineering skills in back-end engineering on data-intensive applications with real-world experience at scale are required.
• A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including algorithmic complexity, asynchronicity, and distributed computing, is necessary.
• Experience in designing large-scale software systems and writing high-quality code and tests is essential, including handling error cases, asynchronous code, streaming data, caching, logging, and analytics.
• Knowledge of modern development practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks, is required.
• Candidates should have experience optimizing the performance and cost of cloud services.
• Experience in leading teams and/or projects is preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills are necessary.
• A desire to work in an open and team-oriented environment is essential.

Benefits:

• The compensation range for this position is $198,000 - $242,000 USD, with final offer amounts determined by candidate experience and expertise.
