Remote Staff Software Engineer - Security Center

Description:

• The Security Center team’s mission is to provide customers with awareness about the security of their ServiceNow product and offer insights and tools for remediation.
• The role involves building high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes, including code reviews and unit testing.
• Responsibilities include working with product owners and designers to understand requirements, owning code from design to delivery, collaborating with fellow developers and quality engineering peers, and contributing to both new products and features while enhancing the existing product suite.
• The position requires shaping intuitive user experiences and customer journeys, troubleshooting customer environments, debugging code, and exploring and integrating ServiceNow AI capabilities into products.
• Mentoring peers and fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and engineering excellence is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 8+ years of software engineering experience or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Strong proficiency in Java or similar object-oriented languages is required.
• Experience in developing applications in JavaScript is necessary.
• A solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and performance optimization is essential.
• Strong analytical and design skills are required.
• Experience in mentoring engineers and supporting production systems is a must.
• Candidates should have experience in leveraging AI in work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
• A proactive mindset, collaborative spirit, and curiosity to learn continuously are important traits for success in this role.

• The position offers a base pay range of $147,300 - $257,800, plus equity (when applicable) and variable/incentive compensation.
