We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator II to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the operations, maintenance, and technical administration of enterprise-level physical access control and video surveillance systems for our customer’s facilities.
This position plays a key role in ensuring secure and uninterrupted access to mission-critical sites through system monitoring, troubleshooting, and compliance activities aligned with federal security and operational requirements.
You will install, configure, and maintain operating systems, server hardware, and enterprise applications.
You will monitor system performance, availability, and security, taking proactive measures to address issues before they impact operations.
You will perform system backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery testing in accordance with established policies.
You will manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in compliance with organizational security standards.
You will apply operating system and application patches, updates, and configuration changes as needed.
You will troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues in a timely manner.
You will maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides.
You will collaborate with other IT teams to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
You will participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours incidents as required.
You will participate in audits, risk assessments, and incident response planning.
You will participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
You will write and maintain detailed documentation for code, architecture, and processes.
You will coordinate with third-party service providers and system engineers for advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, and integration support.
You will provision and deprovision user access, maintain role-based permissions, and update facility configurations as needed to reflect site-specific requirements.
You will respond to after-hours incidents or access issues on a rotating basis, in accordance with established response time requirements.
You must ensure adherence to organizational information security policies and procedures, actively participate in mandatory security awareness training, and manage confidential and sensitive information in accordance with company protocols and data protection standards.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
You must have 2–4 years of relevant system administration experience.
Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, or UNIX operating systems is required.
Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.) is necessary.
Preferred qualifications include CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or equivalent.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are essential.
You should have a working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines is required.
Strong communication and documentation skills are necessary.
You must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
