Remote System Support Engineer

Description:

• The System Support Engineer will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of Gcore's internal infrastructure.
• This role focuses on ensuring system reliability, performance, and availability.
• The engineer will manage the deployment and upkeep of internal network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless equipment.
• Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining internal servers and services.
• The engineer will implement infrastructure changes and improvements.
• Regular infrastructure maintenance will be planned and executed to ensure system health and uptime.
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues within the infrastructure at both hardware and software levels is a key responsibility.

Requirements:

• A strong understanding of networking concepts, at a level equivalent to CCNA certification, is required.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco hardware and Remote Access VPN solutions is necessary.
• Proficiency in Linux systems administration is expected.
• Experience working with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Terraform is required.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana is needed.
• An understanding of containerization technologies, including Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes, is essential.
• It is a plus to have experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Programming skills in Go or Python are also considered advantageous.
