  • The Cloud Operations team is composed of talented engineers focused on building reliable, scalable, and secure solutions across various cloud environments.
  • The position is for a strong leader based in Ireland to drive cloud infrastructure implementations and oversee continuous cloud service operations.
  • The role includes serving as the primary contact for production issue escalations and resolutions.
  • The leader will ensure adherence to security and compliance standards.
  • Responsibilities include building and expanding the Cloud Operations team, leading cloud infrastructure implementation across AWS, GCP, and Azure, and managing middleware services.
  • The individual will serve as the primary escalation point for production issues during EU daytime hours and collaborate with Support, Development, and QA teams to resolve customer-reported issues.
  • The role requires providing technical leadership on cloud infrastructure design and ensuring production operations meet security and compliance standards.
  • The leader will review new service designs for security and compliance, work with remote teams to deliver continuous cloud service operations, and scale the Cloud Operations team by developing future leaders.
  • Responsibilities also include analyzing service performance, improving service availability through automation, and fostering cross-regional collaboration.

Requirements:

  • A BS level technical degree is required, with a preference for a background in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in a CloudOps/DevOps role and at least 5 years in a managerial position.
  • The ability to drive towards big picture goals while maintaining attention to detail is essential.
  • Experience in architecting infrastructure for highly available and scalable cloud services is required.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or any public cloud (Azure, GCP, etc.) is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Linux, security, and networking fundamentals is required.
  • Candidates should have working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with deployment automation development (Ansible, Terraform, Helm) is necessary.
  • The ability to diagnose and resolve complex application problems is required.
  • Working knowledge of Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, Ignite, and RabbitMQ is necessary.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Kibana, Prometheus) is required.
  • Candidates should have experience with cloud security and compliance implementation.
  • A strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality work is essential.
  • Comfort in working within a distributed team located in multiple time zones is required.
