Remote Tech Lead, Data (Remote First)

• The Tech Lead, Data will join the Data Team and guide the technical strategy in line with the department's culture of iterative development.
• This role emphasizes security and scalability, collaborating with Product Managers, Data Team Lead, and Staff Developers.
• Responsibilities include designing and implementing data systems, overseeing migrations, and providing technical insights.
• The Tech Lead will coach and mentor peers, assist in employee training, and enhance the team's technical capabilities.
• This is a remote-first position within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Requirements:

• A university degree or college diploma in a technical field, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience is required.
• Candidates must have 7+ years of experience building and supporting user-facing data applications.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL systems using Python is necessary.
• 5+ years of data modeling experience with SQL is required.
• Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in developing and deploying machine learning models.
• 3+ years of orchestration experience with Kubernetes and Airflow is needed.
• 2+ years of experience in designing scalable and distributed systems is required.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform for at least 2 years is necessary.
• Candidates should have 2+ years of experience with LLMs, including prompt engineering and fine-tuning.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience coaching and mentoring data professionals is required.
• Experience in implementing secure data practices to meet compliance standards is necessary.
• Extensive experience with the Scrum framework and Agile methodologies is required.
• Familiarity with goal-setting frameworks such as OKRs is preferred.
• Experience with tools like MongoDB, dbt, Snowflake, Segment, and Looker is necessary.
