TetraScience is seeking a Tech Lead for the Scientific Data Engineering (SDE) Team to help build Tetra Data, the foundation of the Data Engineering layer.
The role requires a player-coach who is a seasoned data engineer, capable of being hands-on while also mentoring junior team members.
As a Technical Lead, the individual will lead internal design sessions and architect solutions, working directly with Product Managers and Solution Architects to gather business and data design objectives.
Responsibilities include building data models, prototypes, and integration solutions that drive customer success, as well as researching and prototyping data acquisition strategies for scientific lab instrumentation.
The Tech Lead will act as a quality gatekeeper, ensuring designs are backed by unit tests, integration tests, and utility functions.
The role involves leading internal project post-mortems to identify areas for improvement and rallying the team to meet Agile Sprint commitments.
The individual must be driven by results, with a pragmatic urgency to resolve blockers and unclear requirements.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience building solutions as a Data Engineer or in similar fields.
A minimum of 10+ years working with Python and SQL, with a focus on data, is required.
Applicants should have 10+ years of experience managing multiple customer-focused implementation projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and managing delivery milestones.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential, along with the confidence to take control of project delivery.
The ability to quickly understand a highly technical product and effectively communicate with product management and engineering is necessary.
