The Technical Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and support of Pelmorex IT Infrastructure to standardize, modernize, and automate infrastructure management.
This role involves providing strategic coordination and tactical governance while designing solutions aligned with the organization's strategic goals and technology roadmap.
The position requires collaboration with other tech leads and Infrastructure administrators.
The job allows for a remote work environment but requires occasional travel to the Oakville office and may involve working outside business hours and weekends.
Daily responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of core systems, providing technical advice, designing infrastructure solutions, reviewing existing systems, researching emerging technologies, ensuring quality assurance, and documenting systems for IT Operations support.
The Technical Lead will act as a third-level support escalation and ensure IT Infrastructure systems meet agreed service levels while proactively seeking opportunities for service delivery improvement.
Projects must be delivered on time, on budget, and to the required quality standards.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as information technology, computer science, or management information systems is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in a 24/7 IT environment.
A minimum of 3 years of direct experience with Docker and Kubernetes cluster design, implementation, and management on infrastructures like OpenStack, VMware, Proxmox, AWS, GCP, and Azure is necessary.
Excellent knowledge in cloud computing platforms such as GCP, AWS, Azure, and OpenStack, as well as AI (Machine Learning), is required.
Candidates should possess excellent technical skills in Linux & Windows, scripting, and Terraform.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
Familiarity with systems monitoring, log aggregation, and dashboard solutions (e.g., ELK, Splunk, Prometheus) is important.
Experience in promoting a DevOps culture and introducing it to new teams is preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and maintain positive working relationships.
A proven track record in managing a technical team and developing Service Level Agreements and deliverables is required.
