Remote UX Engineer

Description:

• We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and team-oriented UX Engineer in Portugal to strengthen our video product development team.
• Many thousands of operators from highly skilled professionals to enthusiastic young students use our products daily to create and distribute engaging presentations to audiences in broadcast, sports, corporate, academic, house of worship, and other domains around the world.
• Understanding the needs of our users is essential to our work, whether improving existing products or developing exciting new solutions and innovative technologies.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user interfaces enabling our customers to meet their creative and production goals.
• This role requires you to develop a deep understanding of user requirements and our products.

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science, UX Design, a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
• You must have 3+ years of experience as a UX Developer / Web Developer or equivalent.
• You should have successfully managed UX for a product and be willing to take ownership of UX for multiple products or a full product line.
• A good understanding of UX design and what drives a positive user experience is necessary.
• You must understand technical constraints and accommodate these during design.
• Significant experience with contemporary UI technologies such as XAML, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js, WPF, C#, or equivalent is required.
• A good understanding of web applications, including security and best development practices, is essential.
• Experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Adobe CC, Figma) is necessary.
• You should have demonstrated ability to prepare prototype designs and mock-ups, and to write, present, and maintain functional product specifications.
• Experience building desktop application GUIs is required.
• Proficiency with modern development workflows based on GitHub is necessary.
• You must have the ability to think abstractly, creatively, and apply good design principles.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English are required, along with well-developed listening and interpersonal communication skills.
• You should be able to handle multiple tasks in parallel and adapt to daily business requirements.
• Good collaboration skills and the ability to mediate and understand requirements are necessary.
• An interest in commercial software and hardware product design, and the ability to balance ease-of-use, functionality, and implementation complexity is required.
