Remote VBC Data Engineer

Description:

• The Population Health Analytics team is seeking a Data Engineer to help build an in-house application to modernize and centralize Analytics efforts at Privia Health.
• The Value Based Care (VBC) Data Engineer will work with the Analytics Engineering Director to design, test, and implement high-quality infrastructure supporting the needs of a diverse group of healthcare analysts, clinicians, and stakeholders.

• Responsibilities include collaborating with team members to develop data solutions enabling faster and more accurate analytics across the data ecosystem.
• The role involves guiding technical decisions and design to reduce or eliminate disparate and manual processes while maximizing VBC analytics and process insights.
• The Data Engineer will learn and implement new technologies as the needs of the team evolve.
• The position requires contributing high-quality, well-tested, and QA’d code and owning application code as a product servicing the broader team.
• The Data Engineer will guide team members on best practices in writing, maintaining, and deploying code.
• The role includes augmenting technical skills by developing subject matter expertise and troubleshooting and fixing data errors and anomalies.
• The Data Engineer will integrate disparate data assets into a unified framework for development and VBC engagements.
• Responsibilities also include facilitating and contributing to the development and maintenance of complex models supporting VBC and analytic efforts, as well as designing and executing KPIs to track performance and accountability of established VBC processes.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience writing production-quality Python in a data engineering role is required. Experience with object-oriented programming and popular Python libraries is a plus.
• Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience writing performant organized SQL.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, with the ability to document technical processes.
• Experience working with large datasets, preferably healthcare claims and/or EHR databases, is a plus.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as DBT is a plus.
• Experience using data validation frameworks such as Monte Carlo or Great Expectations is preferred.
• Knowledge of analytics languages such as R or SAS is a plus.
• Experience working with value-based care contracts in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
• Candidates should possess qualitative and quantitative skills, with an emphasis on effectively communicating complex data to a varied audience.
• Experience with cloud computing, particularly GCP, is a plus.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is also a plus.

Benefits:

• The salary range for this role is between $90,000.00 and $110,000.00 in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses or benefits.
• This role is eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 15%.
• The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
