The role is for a Windows DevOps Orchestration Engineer at Faptic Technology, a remote, fast-growing scale-up organization in Romania.

The position requires hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and/or Chef, along with strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Windows Server administration.
Familiarity with WinRM, YAML, JSON, and Azure DevOps is essential, as well as experience using CI/CD pipelines and working within infrastructure-as-code environments.
The engineer will analyze and document existing manual operational procedures and tasks on Windows systems.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining Ansible playbooks or Chef cookbooks to automate repetitive configuration and setup tasks.
The engineer will test automation scripts in development and staging environments to ensure accuracy and idempotency.
Collaboration with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to identify automation opportunities is expected.
The role involves maintaining and updating an inventory of automated tasks and related configurations.
Debugging issues in Windows automation tasks, such as PowerShell modules, WinRM, and file permissions, is also part of the job.
This is a 6-month contract position with the potential to extend.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in infrastructure automation and configuration management.
Proven experience with orchestration tools such as Ansible or Chef, including scripting for Windows environments, is necessary.
A deep understanding of the Windows operating system, including PowerShell scripting, WinRM, and system internals, is essential.
Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably C#, along with working knowledge of YAML and JSON, is required.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, or GitHub Actions is expected.
A strong understanding of Agile methodologies and participation in Agile ceremonies, such as standups and sprint planning, is necessary.
Proficiency with version control systems such as Git, including experience managing script repositories and branching strategies, is required.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot automation issues are essential.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
