Halcyon is seeking an experienced Windows Sustaining Engineer to support the development and long-term maintenance of the Halcyon Anti-Ransomware platform on Windows.
The role involves diagnosing and triaging customer issues by analyzing logs, crash dumps, and diagnostic data to identify root causes and drive timely resolutions.
The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with customer support, sales teams, product management, and engineering teams to resolve customer issues, improve product quality, and ensure seamless integration across components.
Responsibilities include kernel-mode and user-mode code development, writing code that transforms messages, processes data, interfaces with components in different languages, and interacts with Web APIs.
The engineer will also use profiling tools to optimize code performance and write unit and integration tests while adhering to consistent coding styles and architectural guidelines.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a proven ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems effectively.
Proficiency with windbg in both user-mode and kernel-mode is required.
Experience identifying performance bottlenecks using Windows Performance Analyzer is necessary.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position.
The ability to develop high-quality code in C++ is required.
Experience programming in Rust or a strong desire to learn Rust is preferred.
Knowledge of Windows NT internals is necessary for the role.
