The company is seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer with a strong background in building scalable data solutions and expertise in utilities-related datasets.
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in data engineering and a deep understanding of distributed systems.
Proficiency with AWS services and tools such as Step Functions, Lambda, Glue, and Redshift is required.
The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines to support analytics and decision-making in the utilities industry.
Key responsibilities include developing scalable data pipelines, orchestrating workflows using AWS Step Functions, implementing ETL/ELT processes, leveraging distributed systems, building serverless applications, designing data models for analytics, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring data security and compliance.

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering is required.
Proficiency in AWS services such as Step Functions, Lambda, Glue, S3, DynamoDB, and Redshift is essential.
Strong programming skills in Python, with experience using PySpark and Pandas for large-scale data processing, are necessary.
Hands-on experience with distributed systems and scalable architectures is required.
Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes for integrating diverse datasets into centralized systems is needed.
Familiarity with utilities-specific datasets, such as smart meters and energy grids, is highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work on unstructured datasets are required.
Knowledge of data governance practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and security of data is necessary.
The candidate must have the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams, including interfacing and communicating with business stakeholders.
Professional oral and written communication skills are essential.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to exercise mature judgment, are required.
