Description:
The Advertising Product & Technology team at Spotify is focused on building a next-generation advertising platform for audio and video.
The team aims to scale the user experience for hundreds of millions of fans and hundreds of thousands of advertisers.
The Backend Engineer will work on product features, advertiser publishing tools, and insights and reporting functionalities.
Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and own complex technical solutions on podcast and ad services technology platforms.
The role involves designing backend systems and APIs to meet internal customer needs, building backend systems that power applications, and improving engineering practices.
The position offers opportunities to work on Java services deployed to millions of users and maintain data pipelines using frameworks like Scio, Storm, Spark, and Google Cloud Platform.
The engineer will be a technical leader in an agile team and contribute to the Spotify-wide backend developer community.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, preferably with Java and an additional language such as Go or C++.
Experience in working directly with stakeholders to develop APIs and systems that meet their requirements is essential.
Applicants should have experience writing distributed, high-volume services and maintaining them in production.
A strong interest in big data processing technologies is required.
Candidates should thrive in an experimental and iterative work environment.
A deep understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms is necessary.
A commitment to quality and the ability to ship high-quality code is expected.
