Description:

Virta Health is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join their Product Platform team, focusing on transforming type 2 diabetes and weight-loss care through technology and personalized nutrition.
The engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain software features in collaboration with teammates, ensuring clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
Responsibilities include participating in code reviews, collaborating with product managers and stakeholders, debugging software defects, and documenting technical designs.
The role involves contributing to team planning rituals and seeking mentorship to support personal and team growth.
Within the first 90 days, the engineer is expected to ship multiple product features, collaborate closely with the engineering team, shadow cross-functional partners, and propose improvements to the product and processes.

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience shipping backend code in a high-quality production environment.
Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining microservices in production is required.
Proficiency in data modeling and experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure is necessary.
Strong communication skills are essential for interfacing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A commitment to making a business impact while maintaining engineering quality is expected.
Bonus qualifications include experience developing APIs in Golang, working with event-based architectures, gRPC, and using Protobuf for data models and APIs.

The compensation range for this role is between $122,846 and $158,654, based on qualifications and experience.
