Description:

The Carbon Data Analyst will play a crucial role in implementing clients' first carbon measurement on the Terrascope platform.
This position involves collaborating with Customer Success Managers and interfacing with clients to define the data required for organizational carbon measurement.
The analyst will work with customers to ensure they provide the correct data for calculation and guide them on additional data needed to enrich raw data sets for footprint measurement.
Responsibilities include transforming unstructured data sets from clients into structured data for the product's data processing pipeline to calculate carbon emissions.
The role requires using the platform to calculate, map, and publish carbon footprints for company carbon measurement, management, and reporting.
The analyst will provide feedback and learnings to the product development team to improve workflows and extend the platform's capabilities.

Requirements:

Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in a data analytics role.
Skills in writing SQL queries, data engineering, and structuring skills are required, or a quantitative background with a desire to learn.
Proficiency in Python is necessary.
The candidate must be detail-oriented and capable of making sense of unstructured data, understanding how numbers from an Excel sheet translate to real-world transactions and operations.
A strong sense of ownership of work and comfort in a client-facing role is essential.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to simplify and communicate complex concepts to a novice audience.
Candidates should be excited to be part of a team addressing climate change and have a passion for this space.
Bonus points for prior experience in the climate or sustainability-related industry and knowledge of Greenhouse Gas Accounting Principles.
