Description:
TetraScience is seeking a Chief Data Architect to lead the technical strategy for the data architecture of the TetraScience Scientific Data Cloud.
The role involves defining, communicating, and driving the technical vision and data architectural strategy.
The Chief Data Architect will devise strategies to support diverse data domains and evolve products for high scale, analytics, and AI/ML use cases.
Responsibilities include designing schema, taxonomy, and ontologies for scientific use cases, and advising executive leadership on technical feasibility and data integrity.
The position requires providing inputs into technology evaluation and planning, driving innovations to improve data architecture, and communicating architecture to teams and stakeholders.
The role also includes mentoring team members on design techniques and staying updated on emerging technologies.
The Chief Data Architect will represent TetraScience at industry conferences and provide thought leadership.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 15+ years of experience in designing and building highly scalable, mission-critical distributed software systems focused on analytical data processing.
A deep understanding of Data Architecture, Data Modeling, and Design is required.
Hands-on experience in designing schema, taxonomy, and ontology specifically for the life sciences domain is essential.
Understanding of various modeling strategies such as dimensional, snowflake, relational, and unstructured is necessary.
Significant experience with ETL/data orchestration, data integration, data lakes, data warehouses, and data science/machine learning tooling is required.
A proven track record of driving architectural vision in a company or scalable product line is essential.
Proficiency in Python is required.
Candidates should demonstrate curiosity and a drive to learn, translating these qualities into tangible results.
Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
The ability and desire for transparent communication and influence at the executive level are important.
An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to bring ideas to the table are required.
