Arootah is seeking experienced Data Scientists to consult for Hedge Funds and Family Offices.
The role involves providing expert advice and support to clients in the investment process.
Responsibilities include conducting best practice reviews, developing action plans, and advising on vendor selection.
Consultants will create and implement policies, evaluate client progress through KPIs, and manage special projects.
The position requires building and leading the investment data science practice, performing exploratory analyses, and deploying production-ready models.
Consultants will partner with investment teams to turn datasets into actionable insights and build dashboards to track KPIs.
The role includes maintaining internal datasets, collaborating with IT to develop a technology stack, and investigating data quality issues.
Consultants will respond to data requests from key stakeholders and explore new tools and techniques for investment data controls.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
A Master’s Degree in a quantitative field is a plus.
Candidates must have 6+ years of proven experience as a Data Scientist in a Hedge Fund, Investment Management firm, or Family Office.
Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools is essential.
Hands-on expertise in emerging data science techniques and knowledge of Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence is required.
A strong understanding of financial concepts, asset classes, and investment vehicles is necessary.
Candidates should be comfortable working with both structured and unstructured data.
Strong written and spoken communication skills are essential for articulating ideas and recommending solutions.

The hourly consulting rate ranges from $150 to $350, depending on various factors such as engagement length and required specialization.
