Description:

The Data Engineer will work on cross-functional teams to build scalable systems for government partners, improving public-facing processes and user experiences.
Responsibilities include collecting data access patterns, developing scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines, and implementing large-scale data ecosystems within cloud-based platforms.
The role involves working with government partners to develop data engineering applications and pipelines, designing and deploying solutions in cloud platforms like AWS, and maintaining security and privacy standards.
The Data Engineer will also participate in software design and code reviews, develop automated testing and monitoring, and assist in post-production testing and support.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 5 years of data engineering experience.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in cloud data architecture, preferably with AWS and big data technologies, is required.
Proficiency in AWS services such as AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS Redshift, and AWS RDS is necessary.
Experience with Databricks or Spark, and building ETL/ELT pipelines in Python is essential.
Candidates should be proficient with relational databases and advanced SQL queries, as well as data cleaning and modeling while protecting sensitive data.
Strong problem-solving skills, a systems thinking approach, and the ability to advocate for users are important.
Excellent written and real-time communication skills are required, along with a detail-oriented and resourceful mindset.
