The role of Data Engineer focuses on Veeva Link, which supports the life sciences industry by connecting professionals with key people to improve research and care.
The Data Engineer will be responsible for a major part of the Link data processing platform, focusing on data pipelines and end-to-end ownership.
Responsibilities include finding, designing, and implementing improvements to the product's data pipelines, monitoring, metrics, and general observability.
The position allows for flexibility to work from home or in the office, supporting a work-anywhere culture.
The Data Engineer will work on Veeva Link’s next-gen Data Platform, improve the current environment, and operate ML models in cooperation with the data science team.

Requirements:

Expert skills in Java or Python are required for the position.
Experience with Apache Spark or PySpark is necessary.
Candidates must have experience writing software for the cloud, specifically AWS or GCP.
Proficiency in speaking and writing in English is essential for day-to-day conversations and technical discussions.
Nice to have skills include experience with operating machine learning models (e.g., MLFlow), Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and Warehouses (e.g., DeltaLake, Redshift).
DevOps skills, including terraform and general CI/CD experience, are preferred.
Previous experience working in agile environments and with expert systems is also a plus.
