Description:

Pythian is seeking a Data Scientist to work remotely from various locations including Canada, the USA, Macedonia, and the United Kingdom.
The role involves leveraging expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling to deliver insights and build predictive models.
Responsibilities include collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets from various sources to extract meaningful insights.
The Data Scientist will develop and implement machine learning models, including both supervised and unsupervised techniques.
Fine-tuning and adapting pre-trained models, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), for specific use cases and client projects is required.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and domain experts, is essential to develop data-driven solutions.
The role includes building predictive models and algorithms that address complex business challenges.
Effective communication of results and insights to stakeholders through data visualizations and reports is necessary.
Staying current with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and AI is expected, with a focus on practical applications of pre-trained models and cutting-edge technologies.
The Data Scientist will also develop and maintain internal intellectual property around advanced analytics, model development, and AI-driven tools.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is required; a Ph.D. is a plus.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related role is necessary.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R and experience with data science libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) is required.
Hands-on experience with pre-trained models such as Large Language Models (LLMs) or other deep learning frameworks is essential.
A strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques is needed.
Experience working with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is required.
Excellent communication skills are necessary, with the ability to translate complex data findings into actionable business insights.
Experience with client-facing projects or in a consulting environment is a plus.
