Description:
As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in improving the company’s property valuation models.
You will partner with the Head of Engineering to enhance the accuracy and scalability of algorithms to support platform growth and deliver smarter insights to users.
Your duties will include taking ownership of the existing UK residential property Automated Valuation Model (AVM) and driving continuous improvements.
You will conduct feature engineering using property characteristics, location data, market trends, and economic indicators.
You will perform model validation, back testing, and performance monitoring.
Researching and integrating new data sources to enhance model accuracy will be part of your responsibilities.
You will clean, process, and analyze large datasets of UK property transactions and market data.
Developing automated data pipelines for model training and inference will be required.
You will monitor data quality and implement data validation procedures.
Conducting exploratory data analysis to identify new modeling opportunities will also be part of your role.
Staying current with industry trends in property valuation and real estate analytics is essential.
You will research emerging machine learning techniques applicable to property valuation.
Evaluating and implementing new modeling approaches and technologies will be part of your innovation efforts.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field is required.
You must have at least 2 years of experience in data science or machine learning roles.
Deep expertise in Python and relevant libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, and matplotlib is necessary.
Experience with machine learning algorithms, particularly regression models and ensemble methods, is required.
Proficiency in SQL and database management is essential.
You should have experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps tools and practices to deploy resources.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder updates are necessary.
You must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
A detail-oriented approach with a strong quality assurance mindset is essential.
You should be comfortable working across time zones with a UK-based team.
