Description:

  • Timescale is seeking a hands-on marketing leader for the Head of Product Marketing, Developer Relations, and Education position.
  • The role is remote and based in New York City, with full-time employment.
  • The candidate will own and scale the Audience & Content engine, which includes Product Marketing, Developer Relations, Documentation and Education, Partner Co-Marketing, Community Strategy, and Content Across the Developer Journey.
  • This position requires collaboration with the Distribution & Ops team to drive Timescale’s go-to-market (GTM) motion.
  • The role is a player-coach position, where the leader will guide a team while also contributing directly to strategy, messaging, content creation, and key programs.
  • Responsibilities include defining and leading the Audience & Content GTM strategy, refining positioning and messaging, overseeing product launches, managing a holistic content strategy, shaping community strategy, directing partner marketing efforts, and building a high-performing team.
  • The candidate will also personally contribute to strategic projects and collaborate closely with the Distribution & Ops team leader.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate has led product marketing and/or developer marketing teams in dev tools, infrastructure, or database companies.
  • Experience in managing managers and scaling cross-functional teams is essential.
  • Strong execution skills are required, including the ability to write messaging, edit blogs, and structure GTM plans.
  • Technical fluency is necessary to converse with engineers and translate complex ideas into developer-first messaging.
  • Experience in building or scaling developer communities, education content, and ecosystem programs is preferred.
  • The candidate should be able to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, defining long-term vision while managing day-to-day projects.
  • Familiarity with database technologies and a background in open-source, community-led, or partner-centric companies is a plus.
  • Prior ownership of documentation, learning programs, or developer onboarding is beneficial.
