Remote Information Technology - Software Engineer II

Description:

• The Software Engineer II at Best Egg's Information Technology will advocate for creating software assets to drive business value while respecting Customer Experience and Organizational Control objectives.
• They will work with other software developers daily, contribute technical expertise to achieve shared objectives, and participate in product-centric, cross-functional Agile Teams.
• The Software Engineer II will influence teams by identifying opportunities and proposing solutions, ensuring timeliness and quality of engineering products, recognizing Minimum Viable Product features, risks, and dependencies.
• They will execute development activities aligned with development and quality control standards, encourage and mentor Junior Developers, and produce technical documentation and supporting processes.
• The role involves developing and delivering software iteratively, performing tests, interpreting business requirements, conforming to best practices, and participating in group knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• 2+ years of experience building restful web services using the Spring framework, especially Spring Boot.
• Basic understanding of relational or NoSQL databases concepts and exposure to Cloud native solutions, CI/CD, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• High self-efficacy, motivation, organization, sprint plan development, and effective communication skills.
• Passion for reducing manual work when designing and building tools for internal colleagues.
