Description:

  • Nava is a consultancy and public benefit corporation focused on making government services simple, effective, and accessible to all.
  • The Infrastructure Engineer will work on small teams to build scalable infrastructure for government services that millions of Americans depend on.
  • The role involves working within the government ecosystem, collaborating with other contractors and civil servants, and navigating a regulated environment.
  • Responsibilities include working with legacy systems, creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, coding, managing, configuring, and maintaining services, and updating documentation and runbooks.
  • The engineer will join the on-call rotation for production issues, participate in hiring activities, and build and maintain Terraform IaC and GitHub Actions workflows.
  • The position requires identifying infrastructure solutions to address client needs and making best practice recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have previous experience maintaining a medium or large-scale production system or COTS products using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Broad experience with AWS cloud offerings is required.
  • Significant experience in areas such as Cloud infrastructure, Unix/Linux, Windows, and scripting is necessary.
  • The ability to automate procedural tasks using scripting languages like Python, Javascript, Ruby, or Bash is essential.
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or other IaC and automation tools is required.
  • Candidates should possess tenacity to dive into problems and iterate in working code, along with being a systems thinker and user advocate.
  • A highly resourceful, reliable, and detail-oriented mindset is necessary, along with strategic thinking around trade-offs and benefits.
  • Excellent written and real-time communication skills are required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is desired, and a Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree is required.
