Description:

Xero is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to join their remote team in the UK.
The role involves software application development on various products, contributing to improved customer experiences.
The engineer will maintain engineering excellence, develop knowledge and skills, and support team members in product development.
Responsibilities include creating robust, high-quality, and scalable software while automating manual processes.
The engineer will participate in technical solution designs, code reviews, and automate testing activities to ensure product quality.
The role requires resolving development and production issues, communicating impacts to stakeholders, and participating in incident responses.
The engineer will maintain knowledge of Xero’s engineering standards and practices, continuously improve development technologies, and deliver infrastructure in a production environment.
Agile software development practices will be followed, with occasional facilitation of agile ceremonies.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience with C#/.Net, React, SQL Server, and AWS.
The ability to debug across a technology stack is essential.
Candidates should be confident in upgrading tooling and technology underlying products.
Proficiency in the rollout and maintenance of cloud infrastructure for team products is required.
The ability to implement resilient software design patterns is necessary.
Candidates must be able to maintain, update, and document team APIs.
Familiarity with application and infrastructure security concerns and proactive mitigation of issues is expected.
Regular practice of test-driven and trunk-based development is required.
A demonstrated ability to respond to production incidents is essential.
