Description:

Monarch Money is looking for a Lead Software Engineer with a focus on Machine Learning to help customers manage their financial lives effectively.
The company is fully remote and open to applicants within a 5-hour time zone difference of US Pacific Time.
The role involves proposing, exploring, and implementing ML techniques to enhance Monarch Money's product features.
The selected candidate will work autonomously, take ownership of projects, and contribute to building a product, company, and culture that align with the company's vision.
Responsibilities include proposing and prioritizing ML ideas, prototyping, training and tuning ML models, collaborating with other teams, deploying models to production, and building ML infrastructure.

Requirements:

Experience with GenAI, including techniques like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic models, as well as evaluation techniques for GenAI models.
Proficiency in "classic" ML models, especially in Natural Language Processing (NLP) such as TF-IDF, SVMs, BERT, and Word2Vec, and generating/using embeddings.
Strong collaboration, communication skills, and a keen product sense.
Comfort working with large-scale data, particularly sensitive data.
